Coming Summer '22!

Redbud Teacher Institute

Our Program:

"Going Beyond Land Acknowledgements" is an assessment and planning program for organizations who want to expand and improve their relationships with Native and Indigenous communities in North America.

How it Works:

A mini unit on a historical, scientific, or contemporary Native issue or topic, that can be taught in the K-12 classroom. This unit would be designed using our Redbud Wellness Model, and would require research and contact with Native peoples from the region in which the unit content takes place.

A reflection on the experience of learning how to integrate Native voices into the classroom, including the challenges and opportunities discovered along the way.

“My organization is willing and wanting to be in solidarity with Native communities, but struggles with getting specific. Going Beyond Land Acknowledgements will influence how we grow our infrastructure and practices to better align with our values."

Jessica Munger
Program Director, Move to Amend
