About the Restoring Right Relations Program:

Images: 2025 Restoring Right Relations Program field trips: (1) Land Stewardship with the Tribal EcoRestoration Alliance at the Black Forest Site in Lake County; (2) Attending workshops and networking at theTOGETHER Spring Conference in San Francisco; and (3) Learning about land restoration at Dos Rios State Park with River Partners in Modesto and engaging in cultural activities led by the Stevenot Family.

1. Participants will engage in virtual and in-person workshops led by Redbud Resource Group staff!

What You Will Learn:

Tools & Strategies for community-based project planning
Real-world insight into the impact of colonial infrastructure on Native lands
Skills for self-advocacy, communication, and culturally grounded leadership
Best practices for building respectful and lasting partnerships
A deeper understanding of Indigenous leadership in environmental and cultural restoration

2. Participants will attend immersive overnight field trips to visit successful Native-led projects!

3. Participants will engage in virtual roundtable discussions featuring Native community leaders exploring topics such as Land Back, cultural intellectual property, and more!

Restoring Right Relations: Empowering Tribal Leaders to Create Change

Restoring Right Relations is a leadership program designed to empower emerging Native leaders with the skills, knowledge, and network they need to make real change in their communities. Whether you’re working on a project, leading an existing initiative, or simply looking to grow as a leader, this program provides the support you need to move forward with confidence.

What You'll Gain:

Practical Skills: Learn about self-advocacy, building partnerships, and strategic project planning in engaging workshops led by Redbud Resource Group staff.
Hands-On Experience: Participate in immersive overnight field trips to culturally significant places, deepening your connection to the land and history.
Mentorship & Community: Connect with experienced Native leaders in roundtable discussions focused on strengthening sovereignty, cultural revitalization, and environmental stewardship.

Who Should Apply?

If you’re 18 or older and passionate about serving your Tribal community, this program is for you. Whether you’re just starting out or already leading in your community, Restoring Right Relations will help you develop the tools and connections to turn your ideas into reality, with the support for a healthy peer network.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Gas Stipends will be provided for each in-person event
Hotel Rooms will be provided for each in-person event
Breakfast & Lunch will be provided (Dinner is often on your own)
If you have child care on hand, you are welcome to bring your children for in-person events
- Your child/children will not be allowed to attend workshops and field trips
We can help provide proof of attendance and participation for your employer and/or institution
- We encourage you to attend this program as part of your job (if applicable)
