Advancing healing and justice through community-driven research, Indigenous-led medical education, and resources designed to transform care for Native communities.
Redbud Research Branch
Restoring Trust: Healthcare & Healing Programs
The Medical Education and Research Branch was created in response to a need we witnessed across Indian Country: Native patients deserve care that honors their histories, their families, and their healing traditions. Through Indigenous-led research and relational clinical education, this branch works to bridge the gap between medical institutions and the communities they serve.
Here, we grow programs like Seeing Our Native Patients (SONP), publish research on culturally responsive and trauma-informed care, and uplift the voices of Native advocates working to end the MMIP crisis. Our hope is that these tools will empower providers, inform systems of care, and create lasting change, so Native people are seen, heard, and cared for in ways that reflect the strength and resilience of our nations.
